I learned photography with film. Exposure, aperture, film choice, lens, camera – all conspired to erode my sanity and keep me from making well captured images. Eventually my ugly determination to create beautiful images won out.

Writer
Jack London, Ernest Hemingway, and Mark Twain, were required reading in school. I keep reading them today. A popular advice given to new writers resonates with me. It says “If you struggle to write about interesting things – put down your pen, and go do interesting things.” I just hope I remember to pick up the pen again later…
Traveler
It seems I enjoy moving as much as living. I’m back on the western side of the Mississippi again. Back at 7000′ elevation where the aspens grow green in late spring, the elk bugle late fall, and the snow piles up a few months each winter. It’s good for my soul and certainly my health. I’m a 4 seasons kind of guy. And, after living as far north as Alaska, east along the beaches of Virginia, and down south just an hour from Mexico I think I’ve found home. Sometimes you just need to see for yourself – and you’ll know it when you find it.

Santa Domingo
